The tea plants thrive in a secluded tea garden belonging to the village of Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture. Green tea from this region is synonymous with exceptional quality: the tea grows in fertile soil at the foot of a mountain and benefits from the clean air and water of the lush natural surroundings. Clouds of mist protect the delicate tea leaves from the sun. Matcha Iri Sencha owes its impressive aroma to its unique production process, in which fine Matcha powder coats the Sencha tea leaves.
While Matcha is typically whisked with a bamboo whisk, the fine powder dissolves upon steeping, releasing a wealth of Sencha and Matcha flavors in a single cup.
